Robbie Williams conquers Milan
Robbie gave one of his best concerts in Milan before about 75,000 spirited fans. In the scorching heat (of over 40C.) the superstar won over the hearts of the crowd with two hours of songs, tricolour and Italian curses.
Whether it was "Trippin", "Sin Sin Sin", "Radio", "Rock DJ" or "Millennium", the Italian fans, in the San Siro Stadium, sung and danced with Robbie until near exhaustion. They had travelled from as far away as Sicily for the only Italian date on his "Close Encounters" Tour. As well as the old and new favourites he also performed the new single "Rudebox" from his upcoming album "Rudebox (1974)".
His reputation as an entertainer was once more underlined in Milan. "The doctor told me I couldn't sing tonight and forced me to have an injection in my bottom. So I've put my arse on the line for you," announced Robbie between two songs.
Robbie repeatedly wrapped himself in the Italian Tricolour and kissed it, during the concert, and when he sang the Italian WM winning song "Siamo i campioni del mondo" (We are the world champions), he had then the crowd totally in his sway. He even had a couple of Italian curses memorised, which he had his fans sing.
So now that he has won the hearts of the Italians, he has returned to Germany. Robbie is staying at the luxury hotel, Ritz-Carlton, in Berlin before his two concerts there on Thursday & Friday. So watch out Berlin!
