Robbie Williams in Olympia Stadium - My report

Hi there...yesterday's concert didn't go quite as planned. I actually had tickets for the seating area for both dates, as I wasn't keen on being there from early morning onwards to get a good place, especially in the heat. Then at 13:30 one of my friends phoned and said she had a band for the first wave (i.e. for the area in front of the stage, where you could move around freely without losing your place,) for me.
So it was a case of getting ready as quickly as possible, as the original idea was to be there at around 6pm, and then jumped in a taxi, arriving at the Olympia Stadium for 3pm. A sprint to the box office to exchange my ticket to a standing one and then through the masses, many of whom had been waiting since early morning, to my friend. Eventually the gates opened and the race for the best places was on. Wow what a heat and the stage so far, but nothing else for it run, run, run.
It paid off though, as i stood in the second row next to the small round stage and catwalk, and at the same time only needed to turn around to have a great view of the main stage. The supporting acts, The Orsons and Basement Jaxx were super, especially Basement Jaxx impressed with their slighty crazy stage act, but the singers were really good.
Then at long last it was 20:30. Fireworks lit up the main stage, then suddenly on the round stage up shot Robbie from under the floor and the concert started with 'Radio'. The atmosphere in the stadium was terrific and Robbie was in great form. Unlike the previous German concerts where he was really ill and looked it. You could see that he really enjoying himself up there. That I could almost touch him and see him from all sides was the icing on the cake.
He joked and flirted with the audience, as you would expect and soon had them all eating out of his hand. He played his newest song "Rudebox", although not released until September, it can be heard on the radio and I found it live really wicked. To 'Let me Entertain you' he descends to the stage in an hydraulic lift. Then too soon the last two songs 'Angels' and 'Kids'. In between a fantastic firework display over the stage. I can testify the fire columns at the front of the stage were definitely hot.
I am really looking forward to the tonight's show, where I'll be able to see the show in total, which wasn't possible up close, although the atmosphere was out of this world.
So that was my report....tonight I hope to get some more photos to show you and enjoy watching the show from above.
Greetings your Patty
PS, Apologies for the news not being up to date, hope to rectify this at the weekend and post some photos from the concerts.
