A fit, fun and flirting Williams delivers
Robbie Williams exploded into cheeky form last night as Perth hosted its biggest ever superstar show.
Flashing hard abs to the screaming girls below, Williams appeared after fireworks burst into a sky which cleared up just in time.
With giant screens recording his crazy antics and the biggest stage Perth has seen providing an amazing light show, the singer showed he has recovered from the “exhaustion” that led to him postponing the Asian leg of this Close Encounters world tour.
He opened with his 2004 hit Radio in typical high energy and then Rock DJ, one of his biggest hits, got the crowd bouncing as only this charismatic flirt can.
But Williams’ popularity lies not only in his showmanship. Last night he proved he can sing.
He revisited classic ballads, his best rock tunes and newest hits, injecting humour throughout.
Since the singer arrived in Perth there has been only a handful of fans outside his hotel — the Hyatt.
But he called on gorgeous girls to come sit in the lobby bar. “If you would like me to come sleep with you I will do that,” he said.
Williams’ best mate Jonathan Wilkes proved a fun character for Williams to play off as they performed Strong, Me and My Shadow and more together.
Williams flouted WA’s anti-smoking laws by lighting up on stage and dedicated Take That classic Back For Good to a 17-year-old girl who “flashed a boob” at him from the front row.
The crowd lapped it up.
From rolling around on stage to pulling funny faces and encouraging crowd participation, this entertainer rocked The Oval.
It was a high-octane performance in what has so far been a quiet visit for the superstar.
Williams played secret stress-relieving soccer on the eve of the concert which launched his Australian tour as his band searched for a Perth restaurant with fresh oysters.
He evaded fans and media but was said to be in high spirits as he kicked around at Lords Sports Club late on Wednesday. The pumped-up star looked happy, calling out “Merry Christmas!” to those watching.
Security was tight for the match against local players with only a select few people allowed in.

Robbie Williams hits Perth today
International pop idol Robbie Williams flies into Perth today to kick off the biggest tour this country has seen.
The West Australian understands the British megastar will arrive on a chartered flight and stay at the Hyatt Regency Hotel before two concerts at Subiaco Oval on Thursday and Friday nights for 90,000 fans.
The Australian leg of his Close Encounters World Tour has sold more than 470,000 tickets for nine stadium shows, smashing the attendance and gross revenue records of Madonna’s Girlie Show Tour of 1993.
Promoter Michael Chugg said no artist had almost filled Subiaco Oval twice on the same tour — until now.
“I knew it was going to be big because the guy is an unbelievable entertainer,” he said. “His audience is five to 70 (years of age).”
The tour will be Williams’ third to Australia. His first in 2001 included a gig at the Perth Entertainment Centre and he played stadiums on the east coast in 2003.
During his last WA visit, the sports-mad star played three games of indoor soccer against local players and enjoyed a cruise on the Swan River.
Mr Chugg said demand was so strong Williams could have sold out two more shows in Sydney and one in Melbourne. The stage for this tour takes 77 trucks to transport around the country and is three times the size of that used by grunge legends Pearl Jam at the same venue last Saturday night.
Tickets are still available for both nights.

Robbie Williams as Drag Queen
According to the blog Jackie Beat Rules! Robbie will be appearing in his next video to "She's Madonna" as a drag queen.
And where does this information come from, well seemingly he/she was booked to appear in the video along with other drag queens, club kid types, circus-inspired extras and, for some reason, many Asian girls.
More is not revealed due to confidentiality agreements, so we will just have to wait and see when the video comes out!
Thanks to Jackie at Robstuff for the link.

Robbie Williams Won't Be Spending Xmas With Kylie Anymore
By the looks of it, there will be no holiday cheer for Robbie Williams in Australia. Maybe he can join in the festivities with his music rival Noel Gallagher - that would certainly call for some entertainment.
Kylie Minogue recently decided to un-invite Robbie Williams to join her family for Christmas - get this - because he has a crush on her.
Kylie's French actor boyfriend Olivier Martinez is said to be furious with the British singer for confessing he has been attracted to his long-term girlfriend for the last 20 years.
To avoid any arguments, Kylie has decided to politely withdraw the invite.
Kylie - who struck up a friendship with Robbie when they made a duet on their British hit single "Kids" in 2000 - made the festive gesture when she discovered the 32-year-old would be in her hometown of Melbourne for the last show of his world tour on December 18.
A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "Kylie and Robbie are good friends and she hated the idea of him being alone over Christmas, when she lives so close. So she asked him to come to her family home for the day. But now she's told Robbie that Olivier might feel a little awkward in his presence. So Rob has agreed to find another Sheila to spend Christmas with."
Although Robbie recently confessed to having a crush on Kylie since she starred in the Australian soap "Neighbors," he conceded that Olivier - who nursed the singer through her breast cancer ordeal - was tough competition.
He said, "I've fancied Kylie ever since she was on 'Neighbors,' but as a singer, I fancy her even more. But she's got that Olivier Martinez guy. I won't get a look in unless she ditches him. He's French and good-looking. Isn't life a bitch?"

Noel: Robbie will top himself
Oasis star Noel Gallagher has predicted his troubled rival Robbie Williams will Shoot himself — and offered to help him load the gun.
In an exclusive interview, Noel was asked by Sun readers to choose who he would aim at if he had a gun with only one bullet: Phil Collins or former Take That singer Robbie.
The guitarist and songwriter, 39 — who has had a long-time feud with Robbie — said: “I don’t give a f*** about Phil Collins. I wouldn’t shoot him. I do think he’s a bit of a knob, though.
“As for Robbie, I’d put the bullet in the gun as he’s eventually going to do it himself as he is a grossly unhappy person.”

Angels that take Mail to Robbie
The mother of pop superstar Robbie Williams is swamped with letters from his legions of loyal fans each week - despite the majority being simply addressed to Robbie, Stoke. The mail from across Europe somehow finds its way to Jan Williams's door each week, even though it is lacking both a proper address, postcode or country.
And Jan says she has been overwhelmed by the support and praise her son has received for his new album Rudebox, which has already reached double platinum status.
Jan said: "I have had lots of letters about Rudebox. They just put Robbie on the envelope and somehow it finds my house. I get lots of mail from all over Europe, I get bags-full all the time. There's been a lot of mail about the new album which is really complimentary.
"When I get stopped in the street - and I get stopped a lot - everyone who stops me says they love his new album.
"After hearing it a few times now I think it's really good, I've really got into it."

Rice guy Robbie tells diners: The curries are on me
COOL Robbie Williams curried the favour of diners at an Indian restaurant by paying for everyone’s meals.
The £100m megastar spiced up the night by opening his wallet and picking up their tabs.
Robbie was only too happy to say "Let Me Entertain You" – in exchange for being able to eat in peace.
The former Take That hunk hates being disturbed and said he would pay provided no-one approached him.
Robbie, 32, had a quiet word with management at the restaurant to spell out his generous offer.
A source close to the singing star said: "He fancied a quiet evening out with friends – and definitely didn’t want to be disturbed.
"He is a very private person, and he gets jittery when a lot of people approach him and ask to have their picture taken with him.
"So he asked the restaurant for some privacy and they obliged."
A fellow diner at the 125-seat Mumbai Blue in Eggington, Derby, said: "People nearly choked on their naan bread when it became known that Robbie was willing to pay for everyone’s meal.
"Some cheeky souls even ordered extra helpings and some more booze. We were all desperate to go up and speak to him, but everyone seemed to totally respect his wishes.
"Nobody minded though, because the final bill must have cost hundreds, if not thousands, of pounds. That’s quite a price to pay just for being left alone."
Curry fan Robbie was having a slap-up meal with a small group of close friends at the restaurant earlier this month when he made the offer.
A source at the restaurant, who did not want to be identified, confided: "He was here but we don’t really want to talk about this."
A spokesman for the star added: "We do not comment on what Robbie does in his private life."

The Millennium Centre hope the pieces will attract young art fans.
A spokeswoman said: "Robbie's a real artist - both in his music and his pictures.

The American model has been regularly dated by the superstar singer since they met at trendy Hollywood club Social last month.
Friends say Robbie, 32, is truly smitten by the 25-year-old beauty.
A source close to the star said: "Robbie and Lisa hit it off immediately and swapped numbers the first night they met.
"Lisa is young, gorgeous and fun to be around and they are getting on really well. It's only early days but Robbie seems really confident it is going somewhere." Robbie has invited Lisa to his Beverly Hills mansion several times. Our source added: "It takes a lot for Robbie to trust a girl, but he is completely relaxed around Lisa.
"She has been spending quite a lot of time at his place, which proves just how keen he is."

Robbie says "I'd sleep with a guy"
Robbie Williams admits he'd sleep with another guy - according to the 'Daily Mirror' - but only under certain extreme conditions.
Rob, 32, says: "I wouldn't enjoy it but I could do it under pain of death. Or if it meant saving a baby bunny from being burned alive."
But he's blunt about what he looks for in a woman. "A great set of t*ts and a slappable arse are the must-haves for me," he reckons.

Robbie Williams Is Quite Fond Of Kylie Minogue
Kylie Minogue's boyfriend better hold on tight to his girlfriend because, if Robbie Williams had it his way, he'd be shagging the Aussie superstar by now.
Robbie recently said he's had a crush on Stylin' Kylie for the last 20 years. But then again, what female celebrity hasn't the British pop star had a crush on?
The "Angels" singer - who recorded the British hit single "Kids" with Kylie in 2000 - admits he has been attracted to the diminutive singer ever since she starred in the Australian soap "Neighbors" in the 80s.
Robbie insists he would consider making a move on her if she wasn't with her French actor boyfriend Olivier Martinez.
He said, "I fancied Kylie ever since she was on 'Neighbors,' but as a singer, I fancy her even more."
Robbie has also revealed he tends to be careful when getting up close and personal with his female fans, as the encounters can be a bit scary.
He said, "It's very dangerous, kissing the public. Some bite and some smell."

Robbie performs with Pet Shop Boys
Robbie Williams is set to join forces with the Pet Shop Boys at this year's Hogmanay.
They will perform Robbie's track, She's Madonna, together at the New Year's Eve bash in Edinburgh.
Pet Shop Boys Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have invited Robbie to join them during their headline set and sing the song, which they helped him record for his album, Rudebox.
A source told the Sun: "Robbie, Neil and Chris have become close pals over the last 12 months. They performed together earlier in the year for a radio show and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
"It will be one hell of a party up in Edinburgh. Robbie is up for doing at least one number but if things go well he could end up doing more."
The annual event in Edinburgh city centre usually attracts 300,000 revellers.
This year's gig is being billed as "The Concert In The Gardens at Edinburgh's Royal Bank Street Hogmanay Party".
She's Madonna will be released as a joint single between Robbie and the Pet Shop Boys in January.
The track describes a woman being dumped by her boyfriend for Madonna. It is reportedly about Robbie's ex girlfriend Tania Strecker and her relationship with Guy Ritchie before he married Madonna.

Robbie Williams hotline
Residents of the area surrounding the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane will be able to ring a telephone hotline, if they believe the Robbie is too loud. Robbie Williams is the first to stage a concert at the stadium since it's reopening in 2003.
A State Government official will order the volume turned down if it is exceeding environmental noise levels. This has been brought into force by the Queensland Government to soothe local residents, who objected to the plans for up to three concerts a year to be held at the newly refurbished stadium.
According to ABC News, a spokesman for the promoters, Chugg Entertainment, doesn't reckon the noise levels will exceed those of the victory cheers heard when Queensland Rugby League team lifted the State of Origin Trophy.
Robbie the Genie
According to his best mate, Jonathan Wilkes, Robbie Williams will be supporting him in Aladdin at the Regent Theatre, Stoke on Trent as the genie. But as with the Take That tour in the summer Robbie won't be appearing in person, he'll be projected on to the stage as a hologram.
Theatre goers could be in for a surprise though, as Jonathan (speaking on the English TV programme 'Loose Women') says he is going to drag Rob along...
Robbie's 'Lovelight' enters at 28
Lovelight, the second single from Robbie Williams' new album Rudebox entered the UK Single Chart at 28 (2 places higher as Rudebox) and that's just downloads.
Yesterday the single hit the shops, so it will be interesting to see if it can chart higher as Rudebox's 4.

Take That won't take Robbie
Just when things couldn't get worse for Robbie Williams, his former band mates have disowned him.
According to the Mirror ,Take That have slammed the door on any possible reunion with their former frontman saying: "We don't know him any more."
That's maybe just the news Robbo doesn't want to hear. Apparently suffering from depresssion, the superstar is also facing legal action, dwindling record sales, a massive panning from the critics - and a knockback by actress Lindsay Lohan.
Conversely Take That have just had a sell-out tour, a best selling single and are about to release a new album that fans are sure to snap up.
The band's spokesman Howard told the Mirror: "If we have big success with this album - really big success - then to let him back when we don't really know him any more would be a mistake."
However, Robbie has bounced back before - so don't write him off.

Kylie invites Robbie to Christmas Dinner
KYLIE MINOGUE has invited ROBBIE WILLIAMS to have Christmas dinner at her place Down Under.
It’s a lovely image. Two pop stars pulling a cracker over some delicious moist turkey breast.
Kylie has agreed to join Robbie on stage when he performs the last show of his world tour in her home town of Melbourne on December 18.
Her own rescheduled Showgirl tour — cancelled when she fell ill with cancer last year — finishes in the same city the night before Robbie’s gig.
So she will be in top form when she joins him on stage to do their duet Kids and possibly some other tracks too.
In return for the opportunity to sing with the Robster she’s asked him to come and spend Christmas Day with the Minogues.
Imagine that. Being sandwiched between Kylie and DANNII (if she makes it home too). Every man’s festive fantasy. It will be a very special affair, with Kylie’s mum Carol and dad Ron welcoming extended family and friends including her boyfriend OLIVIER MARTINEZ to a traditional feast.
My computer whizzes have imagined what Kylie and Rob might look like together on Christmas morning.
A source said: “Robbie had let it be known that he was staying on in Australia for a holiday after his tour had ended.
“And when Kylie heard about it she couldn’t bear the thought of him spending Christmas alone — or in a hotel room.
“So she has extended an invitation to come to the family home for lunch. He’ll be treated to a huge Minogue welcome from her extended family.”
Kylie, who launched her own perfume called Darling in Sydney yesterday, takes to the stage in the city on Saturday night.
It is the first time she has done a Showgirl gig since her treatment for breast cancer.
The tour was cancelled on the eve of its Aussie leg last year after her diagnosis.
It ends in Melbourne with six shows.

Robbie Williams reveals his "wet wipes" secrets!
Robbie Williams shocked listeners to Australian radio with intimate details about his personal hygiene. Robbie admitted that he no longer wipes his bottom with normal loo paper because it doesn’t do the, er, job properly.
He said: “I take wet wipes with me everywhere. I can’t stand loo paper. It doesn’t give the total clean I demand.”
Robbie also talked far too much about his new-found fear of ladies who fail to match his rigorous hygiene standards.
Most of them are too rank to print. But he did explain: “Fresh is best.”

Robbie's rude and ready
Robbie Williams conquers demons and bullies with his success, writes Cameron Adams.
It's a bizarre moment. Robbie Williams is at home in LA, doing a phone interview.
We're talking about Take That, his former boy band who reunited -- minus their most famous former member -- earlier this year.
They have a new single, Patience.
Williams says he hasn't heard it.
"The only way I can get it is by illegally downloading it," he says.
And so he is introduced to the wonders of www.youtube.com
"Is it on there?" Williams says, excitedly, moving over to his computer.
"Hang on (types). Take . . . That . . . How do you spell patience?"
A quick spelling lesson later, the sounds of Take That, circa 2006, blare out.
Williams pauses. "Ah, I think I'll take a look at this after we've talked. It's a bit too weird, really."
Oddly, in 2006, Williams and Take That are both releasing albums and touring.
Lindsay's party snub for Robbie
ROBBIE Williams tried to chat up teen starlet Lindsay Lohan at a party but she gave him the cold shoulder.
The troubled singer, 32, had already been spurned by several beauties when he spotted Lindsay, 19, out with friends at the showbiz do in a Los Angeles club.
When he whispered something into Lindsay's ear the actress turned her back and walked off. Robbie, now based in LA, arrived at hipster club Hyde at around 11pm and circled, looking for female company.
One source said: "He was there for just over an hour and he seemed to hit on every single girl in sight, including an unenthused Lindsay Lohan. When she rejected him he turned beetroot red and left soon after."
