Robbie performs with Pet Shop Boys

Robbie Williams is set to join forces with the Pet Shop Boys at this year's Hogmanay.

They will perform Robbie's track, She's Madonna, together at the New Year's Eve bash in Edinburgh.

Pet Shop Boys Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe have invited Robbie to join them during their headline set and sing the song, which they helped him record for his album, Rudebox.

A source told the Sun: "Robbie, Neil and Chris have become close pals over the last 12 months. They performed together earlier in the year for a radio show and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

"It will be one hell of a party up in Edinburgh. Robbie is up for doing at least one number but if things go well he could end up doing more."

The annual event in Edinburgh city centre usually attracts 300,000 revellers.

This year's gig is being billed as "The Concert In The Gardens at Edinburgh's Royal Bank Street Hogmanay Party".

She's Madonna will be released as a joint single between Robbie and the Pet Shop Boys in January.

The track describes a woman being dumped by her boyfriend for Madonna. It is reportedly about Robbie's ex girlfriend Tania Strecker and her relationship with Guy Ritchie before he married Madonna.
