Robbie Rules the Airwaves

Robbie Live in BerlinRobbie Williams is played on German radio more then any other British artist, according to the newspaper "The Guardian".

Nielsen Media Control reported that British artists were played more than 430,000 times on German Radio and were heard in total by around 320 million listeners. The Sugababes and James Blunt followed Robbie in the list of most played UK artists.

We love Robbie here in Germany, so this doesn't come as a surprise. Will be interesting to see if Germany has overtaken the UK as his biggest market, following the poor sales for Rudebox and the negative publicity he seems to be getting in Britain at the moment.

Robbie builds indoor pitch for Becks

Robbie Williams will in Ruhe Fußball spielenROBBIE Williams is so terrified of being spied on that he's spending £800,000 on an indoor football pitch in his LA mansion.

The singer with an ego the size of Stoke reckons big stars like David Beckham will be more likely to play with him indoors. And he's willing to shell out silly money to make it happen.

Robbie, 32, paid £5million for an estate in LA's exclusive Hollywood Hills last year with the sole purpose of creating a full-sized pitch within its vast grounds. The Rudebox singer - who hasn't been nominated for any of this year's major Brit awards for the first time in a decade - hosts weekly kickabouts on his outdoor pitch with the likes of Jonathan Wilkes and Rod Stewart.

But the news that Becks is joining the LA Galaxy team has really got Robbie's juices going.

A source close to the singer confides: "Robbie is passionate about football - he says it's one of the few things that destresses him." And yet poor Robbie still isn't happy.

The source reveals: "He's paranoid about people spying on his games, even though his mansion is as secure as Fort Knox.

"He thinks if he invites big stars over then helicopters will try and get pictures and that will stop them from coming over.

"Robbie's desperate for David to join his team and is convinced a secure indoor pitch that no one can look in on will tip the balance in his favour." Robbie is said to idolise dad-of-three David and performed at the Beckhams' lavish pre-World Cup ball last year.

The source says: "He is beyond excited about David's move.At a post-Golden Globe parties recently he ran over to Victoria and gave her his number to make sure she had it."

"Football's more of an obsession than a hobby for him these days - but the Yanks think it's a little eccentric to have one, let alone two pitches in your house."

Can Robbie make it Six in a Row?

Robbie Williams is nominated in the "Best International Male Rock/Pop" category for the German Echo Award along with Bob Dylan, Justin Timberlake, Jack Johnson and Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens).

Female artists nominated include Shakira, Pink, Nelly Furtado, Katie Melua and Kelly Clarkson. Amongst the nominees for Best International Band are The Beatles, Depeche Mode, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Mark Knopfler and the Pussycat Dolls.

The Echo Music Awards, the German equivalent of the US Grammy and the UK Brit Awards will be held on the 25th March 2007 in Berlin. The awards are decided by a jury and are based on sales figures from 2006.

Robbie has won the this Award for the last 5 years. So let's keep our fingers crossed that he makes it six in a row.

Hopefully Robbie will put in an appearance at this years show (althought I doubt it), as the last time he bothered was in 2003. Here are a couple of videos of his performance last time around:

Robbie and that Norman Wisdom Cap

Robbie Williams with Norman Wisdom CapRobbie Williams was once again captured in Los Angeles wearing, what is slowly becoming his trademark in the US at any rate, that Norman Wisdom cap. Was in a great mood chatting away to the paparazzi and signing autographs.

Certainly a lot more relaxed and approachable than when he's in Europe (or most places come to that). The photos and video can be seen at X17 online as part of the article "Rob's Style: Love It or Hate It?".

Robbie seems to be slowly making a name for himself in the celebrity and gossip pages in America, but sadly not for his music.

Norman WisdomDon't know who Norman Wisdom is?
Sir Norman Wisdom, OBE (born 4 February 1915) is a British comedian, singer and actor.

Best known for his cult comedy films from the 1950's and 60's, where he plays the "little man" in the ill fitting suit and cloth cap.

His character is normally the working class man, who wants to move up in the world, marry his dream girl and usually struggles from one slapstick moment to the next, but usually with a happy end.

Here's a preview from one of his early films:

Robbies has an Expensive Habit

Robbie Williams is so addicted to a brand of UK cigarettes, he flies friends over to his Los Angeles home just so he can get his hands on a fresh supply.

The Angels hitmaker has overcome his drink and drug problems - but has yet to kick his habit of chain-smoking Silk Cut cigarettes.

He says, "Silk Cut are hard to find in LA, so sometimes I fly my mates out because I'm gasping. It's a very expensive habit!"

Pete Wentz envies Robbie

Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy ©ceriseyyyFall Out Boy star Pete Wentz admits he is envious of British pop star Robbie Williams - not because the singer is reported to be seeing his ex-girlfriend, Michelle Trachtenberg - no, because he can lead a so-called "double-life".

Rocker Wentz is amazed by Williams' popularity in Europe - but relative obscurity in America - and is envious Robbie gets the best of both worlds.

He says, "I haven't heard any of his songs. I thought the name of his record The Ego Has Landed is probably one of the most brilliant things to do. "And I think it's gotta be amazing to be able to be like one of the most sought after people over here in Europe and then be able to go to LA and live completely anonymously. "That's probably really exciting, I think."

Pete went on to give his blessing for pop singer Robbie Williams to date his former girlfriend.

Bassist Wentz split from 21-year-old actress Michelle Trachtenberg last year and press reports have subsequently linked Trachtenberg to the She's The One star.

Although Wentz remains close to his beautiful ex, he's philosophical about her love life and agrees Williams would be a great match.

He says, "I talked to her last night actually. We didn't talk about Robbie Williams, though. I do think it's definitely a possibility. I've seen Robbie making his rounds in California. He's a good looking gentleman. So I wouldn't see why anybody wouldn't."

Robbie's off skiing

Robbie Williams is off to the Park City area of Utah (near Salt Lake City), not for the film festival, but to ski, according to Mr Showbiz at Closer Online:

Robbie Williams is chartering a private jet to pop to the Sundance Film Festival for a few days.

But don't get too excited- the singer isn't planning to put himself forward for a few films infront of the bigwig producers out there... he just fancies some snow and skiing fun.

A pal of Robbie's reveals: "He's planning to take a bunch of friends skiing and thought it would be cool to get a group together and charter a jet."

I wonder if this trip has anything to do with his new squeeze Michelle Trachtenberg? When I saw him last week in LA at Hyde Lounge he seemed much more interested in a British blonde called Eileen. How long do we think this one will last?

So does this put paid to the rumour from yesterday, that he's to star in a film?

Robbie Williams to play Homeless Drunk

Once again a story about Robbie's move into acting, this time from film ick:

In 1975, Nick Charles was found on the streets of London apparently dead from consuming huge amounts of industrial strength alcohol. The body bag was being prepared as he showed tiny signs of life, small movements, and luckily, he was resuscitated and transferred to hospital. Since then, he's been seeking to help other alcoholics by setting up helplines, drop-in centres and, since 1989, the Chaucer Clinic.

Now it looks like his story - both the earlier drifting wino bits as well as the later Reggie Perrin bits - is to form the basis of the film Through A Glass Brightly, adapted from Charles' book of the same name.

Reportedly, the front runner to play Nick Charles is Robbie Williams. It was inevitable, I suppose that he end up starring in a movie; similarly inevitable that it be about a 'larger than life' character; and likely that it would happen now because, frankly, Rudebox can't have done his career or reputation many favours.

I like Williams really, though I can hate him too sometimes (sounds like I'm in love, I suppose) but while I'm curious to see him in a film, I'm not convinced he'll be much of an actor. Fingers crossed for him.

This sounds like many a report in the past (the last being that he was to play a gangster, as we reported in Robbie's learning Cockney, all proving to be unfounded, so I'll reserve judgement on this.

The Rumour is: This Rumour is False

Robbie Williams L.A.After been offline for a couple of days with technical problems, we're back with the news that the story in Sunday's News of the World is more than likely false. According to a report posted in Fans Supreme:

Johann Conrad Dipple
Jan 21st, 2007 - 22:32:19

Michelle Trachtenberg was walking around Fred Segal and saw Robbie. She said to him as they walked out of the store. A British photographer who works for a tabloid snapped the photo and in order to justify his flight and getting paid for going to the U.S., made up this story about Robbie.

Facts:

Michelle Trachtenberg hasn't been hanging around this guy and barely knows him. She has been running around Los Angeles with her sister and mother. She has been going to events and shopping with her, not Robbie.

She has several times broken her silence, on who she is dating (Shawn Ashmore) and gets outright ignored, which is why she no longer talks about her personal life.

The same tabloid by the way published a rumor that the man is gay.

Go and try to reckon that one......

They aren't dating.

Seems the rest of the media hasn't read this, as many reprinted the story today, especially here in Germany. Well I'm not too bothered if it's true or not at least he's looking good and smiling.

Robbie and Buffy's Sister

According to the News of the World Robbie has built up a friendship with Michelle Trachtenberg (21), who played Buffy's sister, Dawn Summers in the cult series(Buffy The Vampire Slayer) which finished in 2003.

Robbie out shopping with Michelle TrachtenbergAccording to the NOW source close to the pair: "Robbie really likes Michelle — he especially loves her sense of humour. They're having a great time just hanging out."

The photo caught them doing just that as they stepped out for some shopping at Fred Segal—a posh cosmetics store in the US.

The source added: "As we all know, Robbie doesn't have a high celebrity profile in the States despite many attempts to launch his career over there.

"So as far as Michelle is concerned, she's just spending time with a normal bloke from a place called Stoke. That's just how Rob likes it."

A good article for a change from the News of the World, only to be spoilt by a couple of snide remarks at the end.

Photo and complete article here

Meanwhile the Sun (sister paper to the News of the World) is glad to see Robbie dressed as a man again, after the She's Madonna video.
Robbie Williams - Tres chic

But here he is in a smart black suit as he went for dinner with pals in Beverly Hills before going clubbing.

Robbie, up for Best Live Act at this year’s Brits, is taking time off after a year that included his Close Encounters world tour, Soccer Aid and new album Rudebox.

She’s Madonna, co-written by the Pet Shop Boys, is out on March 19. (Watch it here)

Not Robbie's Angels

At last a journalist stands up to those awful 3am girls:

What have the 3AM girls got against Robbie Williams? On Saturday they said branded him a "loser" and said wouldn't be nominated for a major Brit award, even though he's up for best live act.

Then on Tuesday there was more bile heaped upon poor Rob, with a story about how Noel Gallagher hates his new album.

Is it because exclusive pics from his latest video and a recent interview were given to arch-rivals The Sun, rather than The Mirror, Monkey wonders?

Presumably Robbie and his PR Feel they have No Regrets.

It certainly makes you wonder, although without them it would be rather dull here. I'll leave it there, as otherwise I'll be just encouraging them.

Robbie's bizarre pop therapy

Well the girls at 3am certainly didn't like the new Robbie Williams' video to She's Madonna (see it here) calling it a video nasty. Bit longer than their usaul rant this one, although mostly a summary of their spitefulness over the last couple of weeks:

Robbie's She's Madonna Video

NOEL Gallagher's foulmouthed pop at Robbie Williams hinted that he's lost his marbles - and the Oasis star might be right.

Earlier this week Noel blasted Robbie's music as "f****** dog s***" and said: "As he tends to refer to himself in the third person, Robbie Williams is obviously a character that he's invented."

And Noel seems to have it spot on.

We've had a sneak preview of Robbie's latest video, She's Madonna. And it's the most bizarre thing we have seen yet from the increasingly oddball 32-year-old.

We can reveal that in the video, he tells a psychiatrist about having multiple personalities and refers to himself in the third person. All while wearing a dress, make-up and wig. In the video Robbie declares: "I have got a very clear perception of who I am - I am quite a few people.

They are a great bunch of guys. I can't say which one is my favourite 'cos the others would get jealous." He continues: "It's not easy to separate my private person from my artist persona.

"To start off with I found it hard. I had to live up to the stage persona and that's impossible.

"The stage persona is like me times a hundred. It's like a super shield. You're a superhero when you get up there on stage and then you try to be as interesting or as exciting in real life - and it just never comes off.

"So I had to separate the two 'cos the real me is very shy. Really shy, and, er, a bit backward."

Robbie, who has battled depression, drugs and booze, seems to be using his video as therapy. But then he does have a lot to get off his tattooed chest.

His latest album, Rudebox, was critically panned and its disappointing Christmas sales were blamed for contributing to the sackings of EMI boss Alain Levy and his deputy David Munns.

Robbie is also up for just one gong at this year's Brits. For the first time in 10 years he is not nominated for Best British Male, Best British Album or Best Single - just a conciliatory nomination in the Best Live Act category.

To rub salt into the wound, his old Take That bandmates will be performing at the event at Earls Court on February 14.

Still, Rob is a favourite to get some silverware - Worst Album Of The Year at the NME Awards. Ouch!

Despite these, er, setbacks, Robbie hasn't lost his sense that he's a cut above. In the video he says: "I don't wanna claim that I'm special but I am a bit special, do you know what I mean?" Er, no...

And he says if he could speak to his stage persona he'd say: "You're a good guy, Robbie, you're a good guy. Sing louder, a little bit louder. Good lad, you're a good lad."

OK, you're scaring us now, Rob - and that dress is a fright too!

Robbie: More Stories from the HBO Party in Hollywood

The New York Daily News brought us the story of Robbie Williams saying he's been living the last four weeks as a recluse (like Howard Hughes). Here's the orginal story:

Robbie at the HBO Pre Golden Globe Party ©brunopress

Robbie's L.A. story doesn't have a Hollywood ending

U.K. pop superstar Robbie Williams seems resigned to being just another celebrity on the block since he moved to Los Angeles.

"I haven't been out - I've been Howard Hughes for the last four weeks. This is my big evening," he told us at HBO's pre-Golden Globes party.

When we asked, some time ago at the Grammys, how America was treating him, he replied rather wistfully: "With kid gloves." But at the Globes party, he said he planned to stay in L.A. permanently.

So does he have any advice for fellow Brit David Beckham, who is also moving to town?

"He's far more savvy than me. He should be giving me advice," Williams replied.

I doubt it Robbie, Victoria's the one in charge there. Back in Britain the Daily Record reworked the story to read:

ROBBIE: I AM A RECLUSE

HOME bird Robbie Williams reckons he's like famous recluse Howard Hughes because he goes out so rarely.

Come on after four weeks! He's just finished his world tour and probably needed the rest. It seems they missed the irony in Robbie's statement, as considering Howard Hughes had by the late 1950s, if not earlier, developed debilitating symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Once one of the most visible men in America, he ultimately vanished from public view altogether before dying in 1976. That's not Robbie!

The Daily Mail brought the story of Robbie and Helen Mirren and how much he admired her portrayal of the Queen:
Actress Helen Mirren plays the Queen

HELEN MIRREN'S face beamed. 'How cool was that?' she asked me. 'Being told by Robbie Williams that he loves our Queen because I portrayed her in a film.' Robbie had been genuine in his praise, for he had mentioned earlier, at the HBO party at the Chateau Marmont hotel just off Sunset Boulevard, that he adored Helen in The Queen - well before she and her director husband Taylor Hackford showed up.

'I wouldn't have thought he would have even seen the film, but he knew a lot about it,' Helen told me after her conversation with Robbie.Helen Mirren won Best Actress awards for Elizabeth 1 and The Queen

The Queen has been running on just a few hundred screens in the U.S. for 15 weeks but has still taken $32 million (more than Pounds 16.3 million) - far more than anyone could have predicted. Daniel Battsek, the British-born executive who runs Miramax Films in America, plans to increase the number of screens showing the movie to 1,000 over the new few weeks.

'The film just seems to resonate with people,' he said.

'Over here in America, some see it as a story about leadership and the human face of those leaders. Added to that, we have the great performances of Helen and the cast.' Helen, screenwriter Peter Morgan and director Stephen Frears could well land Oscar nominations on Tuesday.

Seems to be more relaxed and happy in LA, certainly looking good.

Robbie to strip for Elton?

Pop prince Robbie Williams will apparently strip off for Elton John at his 60th birthday bash.
Robbie to strip for Elton?
The singer has agreed to recreate a striptease performance from hit film The Full Monty for his pal at the Madison Square Garden celebration in New York, reports the Daily Star.

The special gig on March 25 will culminate in Williams getting his kit off to Tom Jones' You Can Leave Your Hat On.

A source told the paper: "Elton and Robbie have had their disagreements over the years. But they are best pals again now.

"And they always try and outdo each other when it comes to presents.

"Robbie knows this is one gift Elton will have difficulty living up to.

"But the pair love to shock each other so Elton will already be cooking up something bizarre for Robbie's birthday next month."

If this is not just some fantasy of the Daily Star, television viewers in Britain will be in for a treat, as the special birthday concert is to be broadcast as a 90-minute TV special on British network ITV.

Just hope if this is true, the video will be available on the net, for us fans outside of the UK.

Robbie to put in an Appearance at the Brits?

Well maybe, according to the Daily Record, as he says he has not ruled out attending next months Brit Awards and is quoted as saying: ""It would be nice to go and watch and not be up and down all night picking up awards. It can get tiring, you know."

It would be good to see him there and I hope he has to get up just the once, to pick up the award for Best Live Act. That would shut up the press, then again maybe not.

Furthermore MTV reports that 15-times Brit winner Robbie Williams was left out of the running in the best male and best album category, earning just one nod for best live act (not really surprising this, as it was widely reported in the press last week).

"No Robbie? People have got a bit of a downer on him at the moment," The Feeling's Dan Gillespie told us, while top tip for the best male gong, James Morrison, said the organisers had got it right.

"I don’t think Robbie has done that well this year really," he said. "The people who've been nominated are better than (anything) he has brought out this year. I think it’s kinda fair. The other artists are tougher competition than him for me."

Robbie's Revenge

When you regard Robbie as a God or simply as a really nice person then this is not for you....(tongue in cheek of course)

Robbie pays back, with a phone call an unknown girl (well to us anyway), who sold her story to a German newspaper.

Of course it's a bit nasty, but the video shows Robbie as human and that he deals with such situations in a humorous way. It appealed to my sense of humour anyway (don't what that says about me?) and hopefully the person in question learned from it.

Robbie has ruined my Sex Life

After more than 6 months, Heidi Lessau has once again made the headlines. Heidi who? We reported from her close encounter with Robbie Williams last summer in Heidi tells of Night with Robbie Williams and Robbie's Heidi has own Website

Here's what the German Tabloid, BZ reported:
Heidi Lessau ©www.heidi-l.de

Six months ago she was seduced by him and now he doesn't want to know her!

Heidi Lessau (22) managed, what millions of girls dream of: she spent a night with Robbie Williams (32). Six months ago, she had sex with Robbie in his suite in the luxury hotel Ritz-Carlton, Berlin. However the one night stand had unforeseen consequences for the pretty hairdresser.

That night made her life a total chaos. She even left her boyfriend, due to Robbie and now confesses to the BZ: "Robbie was the last man, that I slept with. After that I just didn't have the appetite anymore for sex, as all I could think off was him. He has destroyed my sex life."

Robbie, the heartbreaker, "He was so sensitive, charming and basically nice that night, just as one knows him from his concerts. We were, for a few hours, as if made for each other, and had an amazing time."

Since then, Heidi has tried everything to try and see Robbie again. She set up a homepage (www.heidi-l.de), consulted a fortune teller, an astrologer and even emailed him. "But nothing worked!"

But worst of all for the love struck Heidi: "I can't escape from Robbie. Everywhere I look, there are posters of him. Even in the supermarket, they play his music!"

And now, the beautiful single has found the courage to make some changes in her life. She has since started music lessons and moved from her home town of Meerane, Saxony to Berlin. She has also recorded a CD.
Heidi: "The song's message is: I gave you everything, now give me something back!"

Heidi will send the CD to Robbie's management. Heidi: "I hope he likes it and that he will get in touch!"
Translated into English from the article by JÜRGEN WENZEL

Source: BZ via Jacky @ Robstuff

Hallo Heidi...What was the point of that?? The last time you appeared in the newspapers, you sent me an email; about how sad you were that the "Bild" had published their own version of your story, which you claimed had little resemblance to what you had actually said. For this reason you had started your homepage.

What exactly do you expect of Robbie? You were only one of the many, with whom he slept last summer. Probably he won't remember either your name or face, let alone the 30 minutes you spent with him. Then the whole night, as written in the article above, didn't happen, as the many witnesses in the hotel lobby will testify.

Why oh why, did you once again decide to confide in the tabloids, after coming a cropper the last time?

There is no secret to the fact that every girl, who sits at the bar, in such a provocative way, is automatically fair game for Mr Williams. You can't run about afterwards saying he's ruined my sex life, as it takes two to tango. You went of your own free will to his suite and surely you weren't so naive as to believe that more than sex was what he was looking for. With this latest action you are making a fool of yourself in front of the whole nation and worst of all before Robbie himself.

He will most certainly not get in touch... most probably his management will, with the request that you should desist from bothering him. My advice would be to treasure the memory and enjoy in silence (although a bit late for that now!).

Are there two Robbies?

Has Robbie Williams been cloned or is he so great he can appear in two places at once? Last weekend he was reported to have been seen in two different locations on two continents at the same time!!

Robbie at the HBO Pre Golden Globe Party ©brunopress

Robbie 1

This Robbie was seen and photographed in Hollywood at a pre Golden Globe party, as reported in Robbie at the HBO Pre Golden Globe Party.

Robbie 2

was seen in the Queenstown, New Zealand, holidaying with his manager Tim Clark. This was reported by the website stuff.co.nz:
One of the men was wearing a pulled-up hoodie, faded jeans and dark sunglasses

British rock heart-throb Robbie Williams is rumoured to have been holidaying in Queenstown for the past few days.

Williams was supposedly spotted on a Queenstown street on Sunday night wearing a hoodie pulled up over his head, jeans and dark sunglasses. If it was Williams, he has been keeping a very low profile and is believed to be holidaying under tight security at the plush Blanket Bay lodge near Glenorchy.

The rock idol's manager Tim Clark, who has been staying at the luxury boutique Spire Hotel in Queenstown, yesterday denied that the star was holidaying in the area.

"He's not with me, he's in Los Angeles, I'm here on holiday with my wife," Clark said.

Sources say they saw Tim Clark with three young people, a girl and two men. One of the men was wearing a pulled-up hoodie, faded jeans and dark sunglasses and spoke with a British accent and who the person said strongly resembled Robbie Williams.

Williams is thought to have been relaxing and taking in the sights in a private helicopter hired from Queenstown company Over the Top Helicopters.

Over The Top owner and founder Louisa Patterson said yesterday she could not confirm or deny whether her company had been flying the rock star around the Wakatipu.

A spokeswoman for the tightly-guarded Blanket Bay also said last night she could neither confirm or deny whether Williams was staying at the exclusive lodge.

When told every woman in Queenstown was keen to meet him, the senior staff member replied: "I bet they would, he's a wonderful man."

However, she would not confirm whether or not she had ever met the rock star.

In my humble opinion Robbie 2 seems to be a fake, a case of mistaken identity and the need to fill space in the newspapers. Now where have we heard that before?

The third single from Rudebox, She's Madonna, sees Robbie team up with pop pals the Pet Shop Boys for a cheeky-versed wedge of sparkly electronic pop. And yet again, Robbie has filmed an iconic video to accompany the track, starring some of LA's most famous and infamous drag queens, including Alexis Arquette, brother to Patricia, Rosanna and David. It was directed by Johann Renck, who previously worked with Robbie on the fantastic video for Tripping.

And as a special treat never-seen-before stills from the video are to be shown everyday until Friday.
